New in Storyline 360: Video Transcripts
Hello everyone, 🎉
I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 100, we’ve included essential fixes and new features. One of the new features we’ve included is:
- Instantly generate high-quality captions for your audio and video content to boost accessibility.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help.
I left feedback in this dedicated post before I saw this, so this is a repeat of that.
There are two things missing that I would want to see before this is useful to us:
- The transcript needs to be clickable. It's a great navigational tool for learners wanting to navigate around the video. People are used to this from places such as EDx and Microsoft Stream so having a non-interactive transcript might confuse some learners.
- There needs to be a variable that we can access easily via triggers, as with closed captions. At the moment the button to turn on a transcript is very small, only appears when you hover over the video and there is no alt-text to explain what it does. I don't think many people will find it, and a good UI shouldn't need its own instruction.
I hope that Articulate can address these points because this has the potential to make video content much more useful to students who require assistive technologies and those without.
Hey Chris!
Thank you for this feedback! I have feature requests around both of those points and will make sure you're included on them.
