NVDA issues in Storyline 360
Hi PeteRix1,
Thanks for giving a detailed description of the behavior you're experiencing when testing your course using NVDA. I opened a support case on your behalf so we can have a support engineer review each of the points you raised to confirm if they are expected or not. We'll make sure to answer each point individually and we'll send you an email as soon as we complete our investigation so please keep an eye out for a message from our support team in your inbox!
Hi there guys,
Have we had any movement on these accessibility issues at all..? I seem to be experiencing some of these too. For example I have a slide, one half of which is an avatar video (accessible player set to initiate playback when the user clicks), as well as the Storyline 360 accessible player being used for the course. On the other half of the slide I have a single graphic, sitting on top of a shape and a list of 3 points underneath the graphic. Using NVDA and the down arrow I can cycle through the slide. When the video is in focus it reads the video title then says grouping and then repeats the title..? If I add a bespoke button on top of the video it reads the video title then says grouping then reads the button and then repeats the video title. The alt text for the list is read but not the list items themselves. and... if I cycle back through the slide using the up arrow key, I get the same behaviour however when the focus is on the video, the video title is read and the word "grouping" isn't. All the onpage text is semantically correct using text styles. Custom focus order seems to be working ok and much like the other thread contributors have mentioned, I've tried removing and adding textboxes, removing and adding custom buttons, no joy I'm afraid.
I have another slide for arguments sake that has a shape with an image as the background and NVDA says landmark before the alt text, is this expected behaviour?
I'm pretty new to this, so could quite easily be doing something stupid....
