Object not returning to normal state from hover state after hovering outside of it.

I'm having an issue with the built-in hover state. The object is not returning to normal when the user hovers outside of it. It seems to happen only when the cursor is moving fast, but that shouldn't be an issue right?

As a workaround, I added a trigger to return to normal state when the user clicks outside the object. But that's far from ideal. Can anyone help me figure out this issue? Or suggest a workaround that includes "hovers outside" rather than "clicking outside"?

Here's the published file and I've attached the project file.

the not patched version on review 360 was made with SL 3.83 (Dez 2023)

      • no problems with Firefox 126
      • hover problems with Edge 124/Chrome 124

  • Oh interesting... I'm using the x64 beta (3.83.31444.0 from December 12, 2023). I didn't realize four new versions came out after that!

Articulate 360 does not show update options next to any of the apps... I thought it did?

Should I install the latest beta version? Or install and use the latest Storyline 360 (not beta x64)?

  • I see now there's a hidden drop down menu to access newer versions. Didn't the buttons used to say "Update" instead of "Open" when there was a new version?

  • I think I reported my own comment lol. But it said: "You're an absolute legend Ron. Thank you so much!"

  • I am having this same problem. Hover state is not restoring once user moves away. I just today updated to this version 3.87--not the Beta version. Recommendations?

I needed to move quickly on this project so I had to change the way the slide functioned. I didn't save the slide. If it for your records, I had made a custom state and used the "when the mouse hovers" trigger with the "return to normal" option checked. Thanks though!

  • Thanks for the information.  Any reason you were not using the built-in Hover option?

Ha ha, no. I had just made a few custom states with descriptive names for ease when making triggers.

  • The beauty of the Hover state is that you do not need a trigger.  So . . . a little less work and it is pretty bomber.
