Pausing text-to speech when new window/slide is open

Hi Everyone,

Is there a way to stop the text-to-speech narration from continuing when a new window/slide is open?  I currently have a scene with one layer, where the user is asked to click on a variable to learn more.  This opens up a new window, however when i close the window the audio is still going on the base layer.  Is there a way to pause it until enabled by the user?  I tried creating a condition, but I can't seem to find the 'play' option under the list of variables for the user to click.

    Hi Betty

If I understood correctly, setting up a trigger to pause the timeline should do the trick?

When the user is klicking on the variable to learn more, you could set a trigger to pause the timeline and resume it, when he's closing the pop up window.

Hi Martin!  thanks for this feedback. I tried this without success.  The timeline starts back up as soon as the window is reopened.

Alternatively, I think I could make the player wait until the user clicks the 'play' button, but its not an option on my list of things to link to

Would it be possible for you to share the slide/ scene?

Hi Martin, I've solved it! It was about the order that I was giving the instruction. I needed to tell the system to pause first, before opening the new layer. Thanks for reaching out.
