Have a look at which are the top 5 rated authoring tools. I think you find your answer in that.
The last time i looked, Articulate is not part of that list any more. Have a look in the heroes forum with items with years of feedback. Some successful and some not. Its not about production value. I would first focus on the vendor current roadmap and the current feature set compared to what you expect for your course development, now and in the future.
Once you are invested in the Articulate system, you (have to) make it work the best you can.
