Quiz Settings in Rise - Questions I have

Hi everyone! I'm building a course in Rise 360 and I’d like to set it up so that learners must score at least 85% on every quiz in the course in order to move forward, and ultimately complete the whole course.

I set that they had to get an 85% to complete in the publish settings.

And one of my testers failed it on purpose.

I've looked into the quiz settings (see below), but I'm not sure how to enforce this across multiple quizzes within the same course. Has anyone done this before or found a workaround?

Any tips, best practices, or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance🖖

  • Hello Mnavarette! Right now, Rise doesn’t have a built-in way to require learners to score 85% on a quiz in a course to unlock the next lesson or complete the course. The passing score you set in the course tracking options only applies to one quiz or the final lesson, whichever you choose when publishing.

That said, here are a couple of ways to guide learners through a “pass to continue” flow:

    • Use a Continue block
      • After each quiz:
        • Add a Continue block
        • In the quiz settings, turn on “Require passing score to continue.”
          • This means learners won’t see the Continue button (and can’t move on) until they pass the quiz.
    • Turn On Restricted Navigation
      • Switch your course navigation to Restricted in the course settings to keep learners moving in order and reinforce the quiz passing requirement before they can move forward.
        • These steps don’t enforce a multi-quiz pass rate for course completion, but they do create a pass-before-proceed experience throughout the course.

I hope this helps. If anyone else in the community has pulled this off another way, I’d love to hear how you did it.

      Hi Lauren

Thank you for the insights. With that being said, is Storyline the better authoring tool for this type of quiz or assessment settings?

      Thanks, Marsha
