Removing audio from screen recording?

Someone else in my org completed a screen recording within Storyline that we want to use as a step-by-step training scenario, but it captured all background noise and clicks, which are quite loud.

How can I get rid of the background noises and clicks? I'm just starting this project, so I don't want to invest a lot of time into it if I'm going to need to start over.

One way would be to open the video in a third-party tool - Camtasia comes to mind - and simply mute or delete the audio track.

Another way (that doesn't remove the audio, but at least mutes it) would be to open the Video options menu, then click Audio - Mute.

  • I'm trying to edit a screencast over multiple slides - it doesn't look like there is a way to edit the video audio on each slide, is there a way to do it to the "Master" video so it affects all slides throughout the course?

I have exported the video and removed the audio, but can't seem to find out where I bring it back in with the slide-by-slide interaction intact. Any suggestions?

      Hi Melissa!

It sounds like you had questions about editing audio from the screen recordings in your Storyline course.

I see that you've already opened a support case and connected with my teammate Cleober. Smart move! It looks like Cleober is conducting some tests with the file you shared and should be following up with you shortly!

We can continue this conversation in your support case to keep all information in one spot.
