Replay screen resolution, size and mouse movements
I'm trying to record a screen using Replay, but I'm not sure how to adjust the screen size in the actual Replay screen after I finish my recording. I'm used to being able to adjust the size of the video and the black background changes to the same size.
I've provided a video with two different settings used to show you what I mean:
1) Video with Replay recording window set to 796x528 and Window resolution set to 800x600 (Notice how the video shows in the corner and doesn't fill the whole window)
2) Video with Replay recording window set to 1276x612 and Window resolution set to 1920x1080 (Notice how the video expands the whole window. Also, the mouse clicks above the menus - even though I clicked on them during the recording)
Ideally, I would like a video that expands the full Replay window no matter what size I choose. I also want the mouse clicks to actually click where I click during the recording.
Using the following:
Replay 360
Windows Version 1709, 16299.1365

Thank you for sharing that video of what you are seeing!
We're exploring these issues where Replay is adding width to screen recordings beyond what you set in the dimensions and the video not showing the correct location of your cursor.
This is only occurring on some instances of Replay.
To help us nail down the root, could you share some details with me?
- What Window's DPI setting is your Screen Resolution set to? The recommended setting for this is 96 DPI (or set to 100% scaling depending on which OS is being used)
- Which version of Replay are you using?
You can locate this in Replay by navigating to the Help tab >> then clicking on
About Replay. - Does this happen on all Screen Recordings (landscape, portrait, full screen, select window)?

Hey all, I hate to say this, but this has been a recurring issue for years with Replay. It shouldn't be hard for a user to simply record a screen area, or full window, and capture audio with accurate mouse clicks. I spent hour this week rerecording content because my screen resolution wasn't correct the first time. If you can't get the software to automatically adjust to different resolutions, can you at least include a pop-up warning so folks can adjust it as needed before they record? Anything would help at this point, there are numerous threads about this issue!

My teammate is also facing the same issue, but I am not. Is there any other support you can provide on what we should do? Unfortunately, we are not ready to give up on the replay part as we need a quick video to go out this week.
Same problem, mouse curser wasn't showing as we recorded, so we changed to 100% resolution...
Then we started getting extra recorded video outside of the screencast selection area in our previews. Not sure what to do.

I see that you've also reached out to our Support Engineers, and you've worked with my teammate, Philam! Great call. I've looked at the case, and I see that we've logged this as a possible software bug. We'll keep you updated in your case!
About the position of the cursor, we experienced the same issue, where as we had set our scaling options in display settings on 125%. When we switched the scaling options to 100% the cursor was positioned correctly.
What we do also experienced as a bug however, is that when changing your display resolution while replay is open, your video isn't registered correct full screen (see screenshot attached)Hello BPA Synergie!
I'll make sure to link your comments in the bug report for the issue regarding the cursor position. However, I don't see that we've logged a software bug for an issue where changing the display resolution while Replay 360 is open causes the video to not register as full screen.
Do you see this specifically when changing the display settings from 100% to 125% or 125% to 100%?

I like to personalize my desktop, but this can cause problems with Replay. If Windows 10 Settings/Background picture must be set to "Fill" for Replay to properly record the screen. When I use either "Fit" or "Stretch" Replay records more than the single screen that I am seeking to record. I also have to make sure that the Windows 10 Display settings "Scale and Layout" are set to 100% or the mouse is not recorded where I am actually pointing.
I agree with all of the comments above. It's a terrible workflow to ask users to change their screen resolution to meet the requirements of your software every time they want to use it. I've spent countless hours trying to figure out what resolution will make the cursor match the screen recording. You can implement features in your software that tell the user that their resolution does not meet requirements before recording, and direct them to where to change it before beginning a recording so no time is wasted.
Same problem. I finally had a local technician show me to change display settings to 100% and resolution to 1920 x 1200 but to change from extended displays to #1 (small screen). The video records in the top left hand corner (see attached) and I move it into storyline and then crop the living hell out of it to make it larger. But at least the curser is in the right place. This really does mess up the workflow.
