Resume not working on Google Chrome browser
Hello,
The resume option in our course developed using Articulate Storyline works on the vendor's LMS but not on the Google Chrome browser; when I click on View Project. We also have a web app and a mobile app. The Resume option isn't working on both. We need Resume to work for our app. We do not have an LMS. Does the resume option work only on LMS?

Hi Prachi,
Thanks for reaching out about this! Just to clarify, are you publishing to the web and the resume behavior is not working?
I look forward to your response!

Hi John, we have also experienced this issue where the Resume feature 'Yes' or 'No' buttons failed to work. The screen just sits there with the spinning wheel and nothing else happens. The work around was to hit 'Tab' and 'Enter' which highlighted the 'Yes' button and they could resume the module from there. This is a long term established module on our SF LMS and have not had any complaints before about the resume button not working as should be.

Have raised a support ticket re this issue. Also found on further investigation that the issue could be related to whether the course is published with the 'classic' player. I republished with the modern player and there was no issue with the resume. Problem is that all our courses are published with the classic player and don't really want to have to change them all over.

what happens, if you use Firefox and click "yes" ?
what happens, if you use Chrome and click "no" - does the course starts from the beginning?
- GerryMcAteer-86Community Member
Our company doesn't use Firefox so haven't tried that. With Chrome none of the buttons are clickable its like the cursor is disabled, however in the meantime the work around we have found is to use the keyboard 'Tab' to highlight the 'Yes' button and then press the 'enter' key. Pressing 'Tab' twice will highlight the 'No' button then press 'enter'. But this issue is notifying our users on how to do that.
Hi Gerry,
Great call opening a Support Case! I see you're working with my colleague Jan. You are in great hands!
We'll continue the conversation over in your support case.
Have a great start to 2023! 🎉

>Chrome none of the buttons are clickable
this is a new VERY important info, did you send this info to articulate?
with the internal debugger of chrome - the cause of error should be simply found
- GerryMcAteer-86Community Member
Yes I have passed this information on to the support people.

if you have web developer in your company, they could check, why the buttons don't work

Back to the resume botton not working. I have the course in the LMS and the resume starts back at the beginning of the module. When was the latest update of Storyline 360?
- Jürgen_Schoene_Community Member
with the version 3.72 (January 2023) was a fix for the classic player and the not clickable resume buttons
what exactly is your error? - CarolStoutCommunity Member
I set the Resume on restart: always resume on storyline player. It does not resume, but goes to the beginning of the module intermitenly. Some modules it resumes correctly, some modules it starts at the beginning of the module. I have tried resetting the player, I have tested it in the LMS and still does not always resume.
Hi Carol,
Sorry to hear that you ran into this snag.
If resume is not working properly for your course, there's a possibility that it has already exceeded the suspend_data limit for your selected learning standard.
Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check what's causing your course to not resume properly? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hi Joe, that does make sense and since I am publishing it as a Scorm 1.2 that is probably the issue. I will publish it and load it tomorrow as 2004 Scorm and see if that fixes the problem. In the meantime, I have attached the file just in case.

are you using Scorm 1.2?
>Some modules it resumes correctly
module with few slides?
>some modules starts at the beginning of the module
modules with more slides?
if so, it will probably be the Scorm data limit of the LMS

Hi Jugen, yes, I was using Scorm 1.2. I just switched it to 2004 to see if that fixes it. I have to get it uploaded into our LMS to see.

I upgraded my Articulate and then published as 2004 Scorm into the LMS. Still on 1 multi-layered module when the pause button is used, then clicking the play/resume button it still starts from the beginning of the module (base layer)
