Resuming a SCORM package in Moodle not working

Hello!

We embedded a SCORM package into a Moodle 3.5 course that we created in Storyline 360 by importing an existing PowerPoint presentation. Now a user reported that she can no longer resume the lecture where she left off, as the lecture is stuck at the three loading dots whenever she opens it.

I have logged into Moodle with her account and can confirm this problem:

After opening the browser console, I saw several warnings ("unreachable code after return statement", "could not find slide in string table") and errors ("Uncaught TypeError: t is undefined" which keeps repeating after leaving the window open for some time, also some other errors regarding fonts, but I doubt that these are relevant).

Please see the attached console output for details and advise on how to fix this as soon as possible, I will gladly provide the complete SCORM package and/or Storyline 360 files via a private channel if necessary.

Kind regards,

Annika Schneider

  • Hello Annika!

Thank you for providing a screenshot! It's hard to determine what is getting in the way without testing the course. Would you mind uploading the .story file privately in a support case? We'll let you know as soon as we receive it.

It would be helpful if you can include in the description:

    • If other users are seeing the same issue.
    • Which browser this occurs in.
    • If this behavior happens in Preview or outside of the LMS.
  • Hello Lauren!

Thanks, I will open a support case. Regarding your points (just for reference so that I can refer to this thread in my support request):

    • The course in question is currently in preproduction, so we have only one user (the customer) who reported this behaviour while testing the course - we were not able to reproduce it with our Moodle accounts
    • We have not heard back from the customer yet regarding which browser she used, but while being logged into Moodle with her account I reproduced the same error in Firefox 88.01 on Windows 10
    • We were not yet able to reproduce the error outside of the LMS
