Rise 360 - Screen Reader testing - Accessibility
- 5 months ago
Hello Hugh and Michelle,
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360. This update lets you turn off image zooming on Timeline and Labeled Graphic blocks. We'll let you know if this feature is also applied to other blocks, including Knowledge Checks. There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to export your Rise 360 course again.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the new enhancement!
Hi Marvie,
I'll add to the above list these immersive reader errors, which mostly seem related to interactive parts:
- When using a matching activity, the reader only read the items on the left, not those on the right. Here it seems people have to go into each one separately to get them read, as the reader goes straight from the first one to 'submit' without reading the other options.
- It also entirely skipped the interactive process. When I forced the reader to start with its title, it then moved straight down to the next activity without going through the slides. Ditto with the labelled image, where forcing it to read one item didn't make it read the others.
- The 'continue' divider stops the reader. You have to manually restart it afterward.
Would love to hear about why this is happening and how to fix it!
Thanks!
Minda
Hi MindaCarl!
Happy to jump in here!
Immersive Readers and Screen Readers are both used to improve accessibility, however, they do have different features and capabilities. We suggest using a supported screen reader for the best results when interacting with Rise 360 content. Screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
In the meantime, I'll share your feedback with our product team. We'll be sure to provide updates on any new enhancements coming to Rise 360!
