Rise 360 Connected Package not working for learners after republishing
- 3 days ago
Hi SafeTeamAcademy,
Happy to share some insight on this.
Currently, this is the expected behavior for Connected Packages when structural changes are made to a course. When a learner's saved progress points to a lesson that no longer exists in the updated course structure, Rise can't determine where to resume them. This causes the "can't find page" error that you're seeing.
As you've mentioned, toggling Reset progress after updates = On when republishing clears an in-progress learner's saved resume data. They'll restart from the beginning of the updated course, rather than hitting a broken bookmark.
Also, some additional details to keep in mind:
- Reset progress after updates only affects in-progress learners. Learners who have already completed the course before the update are not affected and retain their completion status.
- For updates that don't change the course structure (text edits, image swaps, etc.), you can typically skip the Reset setting, and in-progress learners will resume normally.
- We have seen some edge cases where even minor updates can cause resume issues depending on the LMS. We suggest testing the functionality first, before officially distributing the course to learners.
- The Notify learners toggle is a good companion to Reset progress after updates. It displays a banner letting learners know the course has been updated when they relaunch.
Please let me know if you have any more questions!
