Rise XLIFF - Translation Word converter

Hello - We'd like to translate a RISE course into Japanese and have created a XLIFF file for our translator. Our Japanese translator is having trouble opening the .xlf file. He does seem to have a Word converter. I’m just worried that if he was able to convert the file to Word we would not be able to re-upload it. Is there any guidance about whether it would be possible to convert back to .xlf?

Thank you!

  • Hello, Edward!

An XLIFF file isn't human-readable and cannot be converted to a Word document, so you'll want to use a translation tool specifically for XLIFF files to translate your course. Lots of folks in the community have had success with a free tool called SmartCat, so your translator may want to give that one a try!

Unfortunately it isn't free. :(  Does anyone have any translation suggestions?
