Select and move multiple Items in Tab order
Hello :)
While working on screen reader compatible courses, arranging multiple elements on a screen in the tab order seems tedious, specially while sorting multiple elements of related content.
E.g., Button 1 on screen > brings up layer 1 (which has some 4 elements - title, text box, image, close button). In total, there are 5 elements to be sorted in the tab order.
If the number of buttons on screen is more (10), then the sorting becomes tedious with each click (10*5=50).
Can you suggest if there an option to select the all the related/multiple elements in tab order (in this case button 1) and move them together?

Hi,
Have you tried Grouping them together? - KK-c584d2d3-3b2Community Member
Yes Daniel, It remains a group on the scene and timeline. But in the tab order they are not grouped and remain independent.
Hi Kiran,
Thanks for your input! I can see how having the ability to move a group of items within the tab order window would save lots of time (and clicks!). I'll pass along your idea to our team!

Hi there Alyssa - is there an update on this..? I'm getting Repetitive Strain Injury (not joking either) especially with screens that have layers with tabbed interactions... it's a nightmare to work with ;)
Thanks

Hi Alyssa:
I'm new to Storyline 360 and trying to find a way to select multiple items to create a costume focus order still doesn't seem like an option as other users reported. this is a very tedious and time consuming process. Is there an update on this feature becoming available?
Thank you,
Natalia
Hi Natalie!
I understand that you'd like a way to select multiple items and create your own focus order. This isn't currently an option, but I'm happy to share this with my team to determine if this is in the works.
I'll share this with them and keep you updated in this discussion!

Thanks Matthew! It sounds good ๐๐๐ป. Unfortunately, in this case, every single slide is different with its set of new items. Thereโs not much scope to reuse the slides that were sorted earlier.
For now, sorting objects in each group as they are created. One group at a time - create objects, sort them..and create the next group.

I do wish i could shift click them all and delete them and just add in the ones i have alt text for. today i deleted about 300 elements just to leave the three or 4 i wanted. im going to have to start building my art assets in another program and not storyline.

Agreed -- being able to select multiple items at once, either to delete or drag and re-order would be a HUGE time saver. Right now its an incredible tedious and frustrating exercise, when you need to reorder items since you have to individually drag.

One thing I have noticed with this is the ability to drag the items in the list.... rather than click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click etc.... so that helps a little, not much... :)

And even with that, if you have a list of 20+ objects (which isn't uncommon if you have multiple layers for a slide) the dragging doesn't help much!
The ability to select multiple at once would save sooo much time!

Absolutely!

Dear Lauren,
Any update on this very basic feature? We are newly using Articulate 360 in our Company and the lack of such a basic feature is disappointing.

Completely agree with everything said here. Beyond Storyline examples like this, look at all of the topics in this forum around Rise... so many requests to address bugs or add core functionality that are over 4 years old and haven't been addressed. Crucial accessibility-related items with Rise have been 'in development' for years, even though they had promised it would be fully accessible by the end of 2020.
Instead the focus is just spent continually putting out non-accessible pre-built templates that the majority of existing customers will never use, and calling them new features.
It's definitely time for Articulate to finally prioritize listening to existing (paying!) customers.

Hi, everyone.
I have great news to share!
We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 63, weโve included important fixes, new features, and enhancements.
One of the enhancements weโve included is:
Customize the accessibility focus order faster. Select multiple objects, then move or remove them all at once. For additional information, check out this article!
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
