Show Prev/Next in Review

I created a video in SL:  automatic slide advance and Prev/Next inactive on every slide. So that reviewers could comment on each slide in Review, I created a separate version with Prev/Next buttons activated, "Slide advances: By User" and appropriate trigger ("Jump to slide next slide when the user swipes next"). But when I publish it to Review, I don't see Prev/Next so there is no way for the slides to forward. What am I missing?

  • Check the Player settings. It sounds like the Menus & Controls are turned off.

With that setting, the PREV and NEXT buttons won't show, even if you have them checked in Slide Properties.

      Thank you, Judy:

The Menu & Controls are set to On(See attached - doesn't give me an option).

In other courses (second attachment), Prev and Next do appear in review.
How else would a reviewer be able to advance the slides in Review?

        Hi Ellen!

Sorry to hear the navigation buttons are missing from your Storyline course. Glad to see Judy has been helping you!

It sounds like you were trying to include attachments, but they didn't come through with your post. It would be helpful to have a closer look at the .story file and test the behavior on our end. Would you be comfortable sharing a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case?

We'll delete it from our system as soon as troubleshooting is finished!

  • If the Menu & Controls are On, and the nav buttons are selected in the Slide Properties, yet you don't see them, well, that is what's politely called "unexpected behavior."

I suggest you submit a case directly to the Articulate staff. You can do that here: https://access.articulate.com/support/contact

  • Hi Ellen,

Thanks for the follow-up! Glad to know it was just a quick check of Player Properties that resolved this for you.

If any other questions come up, feel free to reach out!

    Have a great weekend!
