SL Performance (M1 MacBook) Parallels

Hi,

I've been using SL at work for a while, and have decided to go solo and download it on my home computer. I have an M1 MacBook so have downloaded it to my virtual machine (parallels).

It seems to run well on first glance but I am noticing that the trigger wizard is very slow to open and use, as well as other bits and bobs. Does anyone know of any reasons for this or fixes I can try as I'm afraid it will slow my workflow down and make the experience of using SL not very enjoyable. I love my Mac and it is lighting quick with native apps on Mac OS.

The specs of this Mac are great and I have allocated the VM with 8gb ram and 6 cores.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi everyone,

I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 77, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the bugs we've fixed is:

    • The trigger wizard performs faster on M-series Macs.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!

Hey Steven, not just improved performance in trigger wizard, but increased responsivity  in publishing and saving files as well.  I can't speak on behalf of the large community of creative unicorns who incorporate Storyline into their Mac workflow, but I can tell you its larger than you guys thought and I for one am grateful beyond words that you took our issue seriously.

  • Hi Patrick,

What a great joy to see positive feedback like this! So happy that you're now seeing improved performance and increased responsiveness in publishing and saving Storyline files!

We're always looking to improve our products; thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Enjoy the rest of your day, and happy developing! 🙂

Couple of months rigorous use.  Some detailed feedback I think you'll find valuable.

I think we could still improve performance, on application launch and file loading, and we did get a significant bump in trigger wizard performance, but I still think it could be better, I just don't think we should close the book on supporting this feature and further optimizing it.
