Storyline - video with graded question quiz (pause, play, rewind)

Is there a way to let the user pause, restart and rewind a video with graded question quiz?

  • Hi, Donna.

    Thank you for reaching out!

Are you looking to add a video to a graded question slide?

If you switch to Slide View, you can re-arrange the objects and insert a video with the option of Show Video Controls Below Video selected.

Below you can see an example of what it could look like:

Let me know if this works!

Thank you for the information but this is not what I am trying to do. I have a video with graded questions throughout the video. So as the video is playing a question will come up causing the video to pause and once the question has been answered the video continues. What I am trying to do is give the user the ability to pause the video on their own and then continuing playing the video.

  • Hi, Donna.

    Thank you for clarifying!

While this tutorial is from a few years back, the principles still apply, and it should help you with what you're looking for.

If you want to share your .story file here, I'm sure other members in the community can offer you suggestions as well.

Hello Donna, and thank you for sharing your .story file so we could dig in further!

There's a hotspot on top of the video that isn't allowing anything to be clicked. Once I removed it from the timeline, then changed the Show Video Controls drop-down to Below Video as Maria suggested, I was able to pause, resume, and rewind the video.

I'm curious to hear what other community members chime in with, so I'm following along here to stay tuned for other ideas!
