Storyline 360 Localization - change navigation text?
Hi,
We've been doing a lot of localication using the automated tool inside storyline. So far we've been using Spanish-Mexico. Our nav arrows are then labeled PREVIA and SIGUIENTE. I had to do a Spanish-Spain one today and instead of using the PREVIA and SIGUIENTE, it used ANT and SIG. I cannot edit these labels in the player editor. Is there a way to force them to still be SIGUIENTE and PREVIA even when doing Spanish-Spain?
I looked in the review 360 language validation to see if I could update it there, but no luck.
Where can I do this?
Thx,
Lori

Well this is very disappointing. I cannot use onscreen navigation. I must use the player.
It find it bizarre that Spanish Mexico uses full words of Previa and Siguiente where as Spanish-Spain uses abbreviations of Ant and Sig. I would be great if these were at least consistent.
The buttons in English are previous and next.
The Spanish translations given in Spanish Mexico are for Previous and Following but for Spanish Spain are given as translations for Former and Following.
This alone is an inconsistency and should be corrected. I use the same "level" of formality in all my translations.Hello lorraineS,
We appreciate you following up here and sharing your insight. I understand your frustration. I've shared your additional feedback with our product team so they're aware of what you're experiencing. We'll be sure to share any future updates in this thread so everyone is in the loop.
Hi lorraineS,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with Player Text Labels in Storyline!
Currently, Storyline Localization does not support customizing Text Labels in the translated version of a course. For now, those labels will always follow the chosen language. Our development team understands this may feel limiting, and they are planning on improving the label set experience for our Localization users. I've included your feedback in that feature request!
If you require more custom control on button language, I suggest disabling the default PREV/NEXT buttons via Slide Properties:
Then, create your own custom buttons for PREVIA and SIGUIENTE, with Triggers set to navigate the learner in either direction.
Please let me know if you need anything else!
