Storyline 360 Won't Publish to Word
Hello all. Whenever I attempt to publish to Word, it appears as if everything is successful, but when I select "View Document", nothing happens. If I open the publish folder, it's empty. The file name isn't too long, I work locally and publish to my desktop. I'm running the latest version of Storyline 360 (v.3.44.23192.0) and Microsoft Word 2016. Before today I was always able to publish to Word without any issues (last successful publish was approx. 3 weeks ago). I've even tried opening and republishing older courses that successfully published to Word in the past, but now they won't publish to Word either. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. As a side note, at least one other co-worker of mine is having the exact same issue. Thanks.
Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the fixes we've included is:
Storyline 360 could crash when adding conditions to triggers or publishing to Word.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you have questions!

I am also having this issue since the latest upgrade. It takes less than 30 seconds to finish the publishing and there is nothing in the folder. Publishes fine for everything except WORD. Any advice is welcome.

Hi Richard,
I'm sorry to hear you're unable to publish to Word! It looks like you started a case as well and my teammate, Gerald, has provided some next steps!
Let him know if they helped or if further troubleshooting is needed to be able to publish Word as expected!

HI Sharrilyn,
Thanks for reaching out! I see that you've connected with our support team in the past regarding this issue, and you came across a bug we have reported where:
Titles with line breaks (or carriage returns) causes 'Publish to Word' to crash.
Have you checked to ensure you don't have any line breaks in your titles, or are you coming across a different error?

This fixed my problem. Thanks so much!!

This is a different issue. There are no page breaks or carriage returns in the title. I checked a SL360 file I previously published in word and it has the same issue. The publish window pops up for a second and the message changes to be able to open folder or view files. There is no content in the folder.
Hi Sharrilyn!
Thank you for the extra details! Would it be possible for us to take a look at the project? You can either attach it to this discussion or share it with us privately.

It is happening with every file I have, even those where I previously published to word.
Thanks for sharing a file for review, Sharrilyn!
I'm having difficulty recreating any issues when publishing this course for Word using Storyline 360 Update 44. Here's a quick video demo, and I'm attaching the DOC file below.
As a good next step, let's try a simple software repair since multiple files are affected:
Let me know if that helps!

I am having the same issue. I publish to word, everything appears to work but the word file does not appear or open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled storyline 360 but this did not resolve it.

Allison,
When I sent my file in to Articulate to review they found " Course Titles with line breaks (or carriage returns) cause 'Publish to Word' to crash. " Copy your title into Note Pad and see if you have a line break.Sharrilyn

This a great find and also an issue that should be addressed. Would never have found the answer without this post. Thank you so much!
