Storyline Blocks widths and slide size.

An earlier post stated that the size of Storyline blocks in Rise were as follows (with height being dependent on slide size):

  • small: 760 x 409
  • medium: 1170 x 785

But when I create a Storyline element that is built at 1170 width and place it in a Medium block it appears onscreen as 1072 wide, likewise, a 1072 element appears as 1055. Is there a magic size that will not be scaled and will make font and image consistency easier? Thanks.

  • Hi SantiagoFran609!

    Happy to help!

Currently, this is the expected behavior for Preview Mode for Mobile in Rise 360. If you view the content on an actual mobile device for published content, the Storyline Block will play as intended.

I understand the confusion, and we are currently tracking a feature request to enhance Rise 360's Mobile Preview functionality. I'll include your voice in the request!

We'll be sure to notify you if it makes it to our Feature Roadmap.

  • Hi Mark,

    Thanks for reaching out!

There isn't a specific slide size for Storyline 360 slides that we can recommend since Rise 360 will scale the slide to fit within the block, but I would say any slide size with a 16:9 aspect ratio (widescreen) looks best.

You are also correct in that the width for the medium Storyline block is 1170 pixels. I opened a support case on your behalf to get you in touch with our support engineers in case they have recommendations beyond adjusting the slide size to keep your fonts and images more consistent.

  • I followed this suggestions in a Storyline block in Rise, but didn't work in both Smartphone size.

work well in all others, except Smartphone sizes

    Thanks
