Storyline file will not publish!
I have a very large storyline file (about 123mb) that I'm having trouble with. It has been working perfectly until today. I opened the file and made a few small changes. I changed 5 screens to reset when revisited. Now I can't publish the file! It starts publishing, and i can see the counter... 1 of 96, etc. When it hits 16, it just stops. No error message, no nothing.
I saw one thread where someone else had a similar problem and rebuilt the file from scratch. I obviously would prefer to not do that. Anyone have any ideas?
So far, I've:
- shut down my system and rebooted
- closed all other major programs
Next, I'll pull a backup file to see if it will work. But I'd like to understand what's happening here!

Hi Lisa:
Don't rebuild, instead open another instance of Storyline and cerate a new project (single empty slide) making sure the new project is the same screen dimensions as your original.
Import your original project into this new project in a new Scene.
Delete the singles slide Scene of the new project.
Save the project as a new name.
Best Regards,

Hi Dennis,
I'm not sure why, but that worked! THANK YOU! That saves a lot of rework from a backup! I'll add that to my list of "special features"

I'm having the same exact issue. This has been happening for two days since I downloaded the update software. Very frustrated because I have a huge project due on Monday and I'm ready to publish tonight (Saturday). There are 25 different files that need to be published.

Hi Jennifer
which version of SL are you using? If I can I'm happy to try and publish for you if that will help

You are so kind Wendy. I tried the solution above and it has published. It's frustrating that I will need to do this for each file.
Running Update 12 1705.520 of Storyline 2

No worries as long as you can get it published for you deadline. - shout out if you need help Jennifer.
Hey there, Jennifer. I hope you were able to get everything done by Monday.
Where do you normally save and/or publish your files (C: drive, network drive)?
Are your files very large?
I'm trying to nail down what might have happened that caused your files to suddenly hang up like that.
We have some tips for preventing and mitigating file corruption, so I'll include those here as well.

Thank you for your reply.
This issue has been taking place since last week. I updated the software and this issue started.
We have three copies. Two have been updates and one copy has not. The copy that isn't running the update will publish the files that my copy can't.
I save to the hard drive.
Hey Jennifer - You should pop by for sure :) At least meet the members of the team that are there.
Have you repaired your software yet? Curious if something didn't download or update fully.
Sounds like you are saying an import allowed you to publish?

I'm having a similar issue with a very large file. The difference is I'm trying to publish the file to Word, it tells me it is successful, but then never creates the file...
Hi Cindy, sorry this is giving you trouble! Can you confirm if you are following these steps
- Work on your local drive (your C: drive), as opposed to a network or flash drive.
- Make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
- Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
