Storyline Moving items within a group
Has anyone else had the issue where they group something, and then storyline will move 1 object within the group. For example, I have 5 items grouped right now, and I am working on a text box within the group. I just clicked on the text box, and the position of the text box jumped up at least a hundred pixels, and to the left many pixels as well. I clicked "Undo" but storyline hasn't registered the change, and so it wont undo it. It will just undo the last thing I did. I have to manually place the object to the approximate position that I had it before, and when precision is important, it is very annoying to have to do this.
Has anyone else run into this problem? I run into it fairly frequently.
Thank you!
Hi Pam,
Sorry to hear about the behavior you encountered. I'd like to recommend a few troubleshooting steps to help address the behavior:
- Work locally when making changes to your project file
- Do a repair of your Storyline 360 installation
If the issue persists, would you be able to make a recording of the issue for me so I can try and replicate the behavior on my end?
For Articulate 360 subscribers, Peek 360 is the quickest way to record a screencast, and it's available for Windows and Mac. Follow the steps below:
-
Launch Peek 360 on your computer and click New Recording.
-
Select the application you want to record, then choose a microphone (if you have one) when the recording window appears.
-
Click the red Record button and reproduce the issue.
-
When you're finished, click Done on the recording control bar or click the Peek 360 icon in your system tray (by the clock).
-
You can preview your recording, give it a name, and then click Upload to send it to your Articulate 360 account.
-
Windows will notify you when it's done uploading, and a link to your screencast will automatically be copied to your clipboard.
-
Share the link with us.
If a video of the issue is not possible, please provide me with a copy of your project file by uploading it here or in private through a support case.
Looking forward to your response!

Hello!
This issue doesn't happen every time that I work with groups, so I can't record hours of working just to hope that it may happen again. But it is something that I have encountered multiple times. I only work locally and I'm working on a new computer, and I had the issues on my old computer as well
