Timeline issue when moving between quiz layers

Hi,

 

I am using a "pick many" quiz slide. There are rectangular shapes that come onto the screen at certain times. Their timings are set using the timeline. The slide has a video and the shapes come on when things happen on the video. The user has to click on the shapes when they see them.

The slide is set up to have 2 attempts. When the user fails the first attempt it takes them to the "try again" layer. The default trigger for the "try again" layer is to hide that layer. This doesn't reset the video so I added another trigger to restart the timeline on the base layer. This trigger now resets the video.

The issue I am having is that on the second attempt all the shapes are still showing on the base layer. They do not disappear and come on when they are supposed to, they are there from the start. Is there a way to fix this?

    I would restart the slide timeline, rather than the video. That will start everything anew. Of course, that means you will have to create a variable to keep track of the number of attempts so it doesn’t keep cycling to try again.
