Storyline "only score viewed questions," not remembering viewed slides on relaunch
I set up a branching quiz in storyline with 3 different tracks and one result slide. I used the setting "only score viewed questions". I am now testing on the LMS and it works fine the first go around, the percentage right is correct. But if I close and relaunch the course, the percentage changes to a lower percent because it is counting ALL of the question slides and not just the viewed ones. Is there a fix for this other than creating 3 different results slides?

Hi Candace,
Thanks for reaching out!
I'm so sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with all the questions being scored, instead of only the questions viewed. I see that you’ve reached out to our Support Engineers and connected with my teammate, Cleo, who found this is a possible software bug we are tracking. I've linked this discussion so we'll be sure to update this thread as soon as we have news to share.

Is there an update on this issue? I'm encountering this issue in my course now. I have 14 questions in my final assessment, and a user will answer 11 of them. I have the "Only score viewed questions" enabled. In the first attempt, it works as expected. In the retry, it calculates a score for all 14 questions and gives me a lower percentage.
Hello AravindhanPraka,

Hi KellyAuner ,
I’m facing an issue with a course built in Storyline using the default quiz functionality. At the end of the course, we’ve added an option to Retake Quiz (or revisit training).
Here’s the setup and the problem:
- I’m using the “Only score viewed questions” setting.
- The final assessment has 5 questions.
- On the first attempt, everything works as expected — if the learner answers all 5 questions correctly, the result shows 100%.
- On the retry, the same 5 questions are added again (as separate question slides).
- During the retake, Storyline calculates the score across all 10 questions (the original 5 + the 5 from the retry), resulting in a 50% score even when all retry questions are answered correctly.
It seems like Storyline isn’t resetting the previous attempt’s results and is combining both sets of questions when calculating the score.
Is there a way to ensure that only the retried set of questions is counted in the results slide calculation? Or should I adjust something in the Result Slide settings, triggers, or variables to fix this behavior? (Edit : I'm using the latest version of SL)
