Storyline player on multiple monitors.

I have an industrial training simulation application where I want/need to create two, maybe as many as four "screens" on separate monitors..

The primary screen is where the student observes the industrial system operation. The secondary screen(s) are where the student makes adjustments and responds to alarms that impact the display on the primary screen.

This is not intended for an LMS. It will operate from a local/dedicated computer.

Is there a way to do this?  Can I link two Storyline "courses"?

  • Hi Raymond!

Great question! That sounds like a very interesting scenario!

If you're willing to publish the courses to the Web instead of using an LMS, my teammate Ashley shared some helpful steps for linking multiple Storyline courses here. However, I would suggest modifying Step 4 and having the different courses open in a new window, so they can be displayed on separate monitors.

Please keep in mind, that this solution would only be for displaying the different courses on separate monitors without the use of an LMS. Interactions performed in one course unfortunately would not impact content from a completely different course.

I would also like to open the floor to our knowledgeable community who may be able to offer some additional suggestions for you!

    Hope this helps!

  • This is possible. I have a multiplayer setup that can manage to get this done. It uses Javascript ofcourse but it is  possible to use multiple Storyline instances to communicate forth and back between Storyline instances, Google Sheets and a database.
