Storyline Textboxes
You are using a variable, Storyline handles these differently it will not resize but will add scrollbars if you allow it to.
Thank you for your response. I was not aware of this textbox limitation. So the formatting only applies for static text added by the developer and cannot necessarily be used for text variables (i.e. for learner input).
Are there any tips or solutions around this? (I am aware of the scroll bar solution, thanks for confirming that one).

I'm happy to chime in! I can confirm what PhilMayor said regarding text input variables. Text boxes containing variable text won't dynamically change in the published output to preserve the slide's layout.
You're on the right track regarding the most recommended solution for this: upgrading project text and adding scrollbars when text overflows.
