Storyline360 Quits if Offline
This is something that bit me recently when I was travelling and didn't have an internet connection. I found that if Storyline360 can't connect to its authentication/authorization server, then the program quits. This made it impossible for me to do any work on my course until I could get to an internet connection.
This seems to be part of an overprotective trend as Outlook in M$365 also follows the same playbook, but I'm saving my files locally (as is best practice)! I don't care if the various image libraries don't load or other connected functionality, like AI. Shutting down the program is an extreme response. Does SL360 itself load program resources remotely just to be able to run? I don't know the depth of this problem, but I'd sure like the ability to work offline. If there is a way to do this, can anyone fill me in?

I always have to close my project if Articulate cannot detect an internet connection. It will tell me to sign-in with Articulate 360.
So annoying to be working away and suddenly you are kicked out of working.

- Does this happen in a brand new Storyline project, or only a specific file?
- Does the sign-in prompt appear every time your internet connection drops, or is it intermittent?
- Were you connected to a VPN when this happened?
- Which version of Storyline 360 are you using?
Hi, here's some more details. It was connected to the internet earlier that day. I didn't see an authorization request. Two dialog boxes appeared (which I could only select OK to) and the application quit.

Storyline is designed to support offline authoring. After signing into the Articulate 360 desktop app while connected to the internet, authors can continue using Storyline offline for up to 99 consecutive days before they need to reconnect and sign in again.
Cloud-based features like AI Assistant and Content Library 360 require an internet connection, but the core authoring application should continue to work offline during that period. If Storyline closed as soon as your internet connection was unavailable, that isn't what we'd normally expect.
Could you share a few more details, such as whether you saw an authentication or sign-in message before the application closed, and about how long it had been since the computer was last connected to the internet? That can help us better understand what may have gotten in the way!
