Straight Lines Have an Arrow

For the past couple months, I am unable to draw a straight line. While I am choosing INSERT > Shape > Line, it is not working. All my lines have arrows on the end of them. Is this a known glitch?  What's the fix? Thanks!

  • The Format Shape > Line Style function lets you adjust how a line looks. It includes options for adding different types of arrows to the beginning or end of a line.

To open the Format Shape window, right click on the shape, and select "Format Shape." Then select Line Style to access those settings.

Notice that a shape's right-click dropdown menu also includes "Set as Default ___." It sounds like your "line" default somehow got set to include an arrow. So first, try this:

    • Use the Line Style function to adjust a line to your preferred settings.
    • Set that as the default line.

Note: There may be something else going on in your program, because usually "Set as Default ___" only sets the default for a given file. So you may also need to contact the Articulate support staff directly. You can do that here: Contact Support for Help with Any Articulate E-Learning Course Development Software
