Tab order skipping an object when revisiting slide

Hi everyone!

I'm having some tabbing issues that I hope someone could help me resolve.

The users must be able to navigate the whole course using keyboard only. The continue buttons need to stay hidden until the user has done what he/she is asked to do on each slide. It seems to work fine the first time around, but when revisiting a slide the taborder simply skips the continue button. I cant understand why that happens or how to resolve it.

I pulled a few slides to demonstrate the problem. Does anyone have a clue?

  • Yes looks like it is, maybe related to the resume state on the slide, but also looks like a bug

  • Thanks for the input!

Now I've tried both "automatically decide" and "resume saved state"  without success unfortunately.  I'd rather not use "reset to initial state". The main reason to revisit the slides will probably be to review an incorrect answer and the slide resetting would mess that up for the learners. But the fact that the buttons works when clicking and not when tabbing is a bit weird, maybe that points towards the bug theory.

      Hi T-L L,

I'm happy to jump in; thanks for sharing the Storyline file containing some of the slides in your project!

I conducted initial testing on this issue, and to find out whether this is a bug of the product rather than file-specific, we need to reproduce the issue on a new Storyline project. These are the items I got from the sample project and reproduced in the new file:

      1. The Continue button is initially hidden.
      2. I used Custom Focus Order.

After previewing my Storyline project, attached below, I could tab through the custom Continue button after revisiting the slide. Kindly preview my project on your end and let me know if you get the same results.

Please try to import the original Storyline project on your end, containing all slides, to a new one using the steps below:

If this doesn't improve things, could I have you connect with us in a case so we can determine what's happening? We'll reach out soon after we hear from you!

  • As you are using variables then it would stay the same, may need to alter the animation and add some logic to unlock the continue button.

There is definitely a bug, if you report it there may be a workaround.
