Text in text box seems to be invisible
Has anyone encountered this weird issue? What did you do to fix it?
I started a new project in 360 and added a textbox to the slide but I can't see the text. What I type is showing up in the timeline and when I show it in preview but in the normal development view I can't see any of it. This only seems to be happening in any new project I start. In existing projects I can see previous boxes just fine AND I can added new text boxes just fine.
I have put a ticket in with Articulate but so far they can't figure out what is going on. I tried the solutions (uninstall 360 and reinstall, bring DPI on text down) they suggested but nothing seems to work. They are in contact with my desktop people.
And it's only happening with my copy. When I share the file everyone else can see everything just fine. I posted two images of what I see.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone!
I have great news to share! We are no longer seeing this bug where text gets cut off or disappears when tabbing in Edit Mode within our latest version of Storyline 360 (Build 3.72.29699.0).
Please let us know if you’re still noticing the issue and we’ll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you in a support case.

Hi there, it is the same issue as mentioned, so it applies to editing, but the text appears properly in preview or publish.
I'm contracting at a large organisation, so I am waiting for IT to be able to update Storyline, as the PC is locked down. I can't provide the what I am working on, but in testing I can easily recreate the issue, which appears to be to do with using tabbing as a way of spacing text in a text box.
I recorded a demo of what happens. I know the answer is probably "don't tab for spacing", but it's still clearly a display issue.

I've had the update applied (I am now on version 3.22.17236.0) and the text still disappears if I use a tab for spacing in the text box.
Hi there Philip! I'm seeing the same thing you're seeing. As you mentioned, this only applies to editing, not previewing or publishing. Let me get this to my team to see how we can help. I'll report back if I get new information to share!

Hi, I am also facing this issue intermittently and it seems normal only after disabling 'Use Modern Text'. Also, I am using the latest version. Has this issue resurfaced?
Hi Prita!
It sounds like text is disappearing on your slides when you disable the Modern Text feature, is that right? Does everything appear correct when Modern Text is enabled?
I haven't seen other reports of this issue since the latest update, but we'll keep our eyes out and take a closer look at it. Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Alyssa,
That is exactly the problem. But when I disabled the Modern Text feature, the formatting of the text throughout the font was disturbed and correcting that is going to be a huge task for me.
Thanks for providing more context around what you're seeing, Prita.
With your permission, I'd like our Support Engineers to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it with the team privately by clicking here. They will delete your file when they are done troubleshooting.

Hi Alyssa, I'm aware there is a few conversations going on here....but a month ago (I wish forum posts had specific dates so that I could reference it) you said (to me) "I'm seeing the same thing you're seeing"...but to Prita you've commented "I haven't seen other reports of this issue since the latest update".
I'm on what I believe is the latest update (v3.23.17522.0) and I don't see the issue resolved at all? The visual glitch re tabbing and text disappearing in edit mode) is still there as far as I can see.
Cheers, Phil
Hi Philip,
You mentioned, "the text still disappears if I use a tab for spacing in the text box."
Prita's issue is a bit different, as she did not mention using a tab for spacing. The best way we can identify her issue is by taking a closer look at her file.
The problem you are seeing has been reported as a bug, and it has not been resolved yet. We have this discussion tagged to be updated as soon as a fix is released.
