Totally new to e-learning!
Hi Joe, and welcome! I love this job, and I hope you do as well. There is a LOT to learn, so don't get discouraged if you don't learn it all in a week.
Here are some e-books provided through Articulate to help get you started: https://community.articulate.com/e-books
I also recommend looking at the Project Management templates. Often this type of template will help you think about things you may need/want in a course. https://community.articulate.com/downloads/course-design/project-management-planning
Finally, as you are building a course (assuming you're building a course for someone else, and not just yourself), be sure to ask a ton of questions, even if you think you know the answer. Always test your assumptions. If the client says "we need to have x in the course," ask why. Let them know you're asking questions, even when some things seem obvious, because you need to verify and not just make assumptions about what you think they mean. A lot of teaching in any format is translating content from a Subject Matter Expert to layman's terms.
I've found this community to be very helpful to beginners. Be sure to ask lots of questions here too. And good luck!
