Updating SCORM packages missing original content file
Hi ,
We are currently in the process of changing LMS and updating SCORM packages on Rise and Storyline to be compatible with our new LMS. How would we proceed with this if we only have the SCORM package and not the original content file?

There is no "backwards translation" capability to recreate a Storyline or Rise file from a SCORM package.
There are limited options for you, all of them involving more time and effort than you probably want to invest. Depending on the course, you can:
- Play the course and take screenshots that then can be integrated into a new *.story or Rise file
- Recreate or revise the course from scratch
- Leave it as is and hope that the new LMS vendor has the skills to migrate the package(s) successfully
Good luck. If you have the budget for it you could consider hiring a contractor to do the first option, and then plan to do a full revision sometime in the next 12-18 months.

I agree with JHauglie, there is no ging back. Best practice is to always keep your .story files and Rise files. We all wish Articulate would develop a way back. Too many companies don't save the original files and find themselves in this spot.
My plan would be to look at option 2 with a touch of option 3. I would see how may files the new LMS vendor can transfer, then look at recreating and revising the rest.
Good luck
