Using states to show the Next button
Hello! I've set up a trigger on the attached slide to make the Next button show once all the gold stars have been visited. The stars are functioning as buttons to show layers, and they each have a Visited state. I've used a similar method before to hide/show the Next button, but for some reason it's not working for me this time. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!
Add a trigger on the layer to hide the layer when the timeline ends.

That did it, thanks so much! This is a good lesson to learn - to let Storyline do its own thing. I'm still new to Storyline, just started using it a few months ago, so I'm not 100% there yet with all of the logic around it. But I'm really enjoying using it, and I appreciate your help!
I've also attached the corrected slide, just in case anyone needs to see what it's supposed to look like. :)
Just to clarify for those who may read this thread later:
- The user is prevented from clicking on the base layer.
- To allow them to click after the layer is complete, one needs to hide the layer which will bring the slide back to the base layer where the other objects are then clickable.
Your triggers are not working properly because at the slide layer you're resetting the visited states to normal. You don't need all of those triggers on the layers.
- Get rid of all of the triggers on the layers.
- The stars have visited states so when they're clicked you set it to visited already.
- To keep people from clicking on the base layer go into the layer properties and select "prevent user from clicking on other layers"

Thanks for your reply, Tom! I also thought there were way too many triggers, but I couldn't make it work otherwise. I followed your instructions, but now I'm only able to click on 1 of the stars because of the "prevent user from clicking on other layers."
My issue was that I want learners to click on each star to read/hear the layer AND not be able to click on any others until each one is finished. And also have the Next button stay hidden until all 6 stars are viewed. I've attached a new version of the slide using your suggestions. I appreciate any advice you have!

I would first name everything to make sure you are getting the correct graphics state changes. It's a little confusing to just say vector graphics.

Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure why Storyline did that. I actually have all of those named separately - Icon 1, Icon 2, etc. but when I selected all 6 of them Storyline just renamed them all "vector graphics." I thought it was odd too!
Glad you got it working.
You'll learn what you need to learn as you use the tools. :)
