Video not autoplaying

Hello All. I have a video on my 2nd slide that is set to autoplay. This works fine in Preview mode, but does not work when loaded to Review 360. I also tested this in Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and my LMS, but none will auto play the video. I know it's an issue when the video is on the 1st slide (must add a fake Play button), but the video lives on the 2nd slide. Any thoughts other than trying to add Java, which I am not familiar with?

Hi Sharon. Before resorting to Javascript have you tried using triggers to start the video?

My go to would be to use the following trigger: Play Media [your video] When the timeline starts on [slide 2].

Thanks for that suggestion, Catherine! I so appreciate how this community always jumps in with options and support. Unfortunately, a Play Media trigger didn't work, either.

Jurgen, you are exactly correct! My first slide does NOT have a click button on it, it's set to advance at end of the timeline. Thanks for the detective work and the resource link, much appreciated.

  • Final Outcome:  Articulate support assisted and determined that since my first slide doesn't have a click button to advance, no interaction with the web browser has been invoked, thus the pause on my 2nd slide housing the video. Wish it wasn't the UX to have to click a video to watch it, but it did help us convince the SME that the better way to distribute this quick introduction video is better suited inside the content as opposed to stand alone.
