Web Objects for Storyline

Hi There

I am new to Web Objects and they look super exciting and something I really want to utilise.

However, I am trying to link to our internal intranet (which starts with https), the test link works fine.  However, when I publish to review I get a response:

....redirected you too many times and a sad face.  Image below.

Can someone please help me.  If I can get web objects to work, I will save our team so much work going forward.

  • Hi Vicki!

I appreciate you sharing what you would like to create with Storyline 360.

You're headed down the right path by using the https because this is a supported method for adding web objects.

It looks like you're getting a re-direct error due to a timeout of your site.

In order to assist you further, I have a few additional questions and suggestions:

    • Are you able to access the link you’ve added independently in a new browser window?
    • Do you have the link set to Display in Slide or Display in a new browser window? Does the link work if set to open in a new browser window?
    • Please test in the intended environment, such as web or LMS, to see if it’s working as expected there.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Luciana

Thank you for coming back to me.

Yes I am able to access the link in a new browser window

I have the link set to Display in Slide - I tried Display in a new browser window and this worked.

I uploaded the module to our LMS and tested the slide and no it didn't work, I received the same response.

Do I need to change to read index.html? I am not sure how to do this.

  • Thanks for sharing the additional details, Vicki.

It sounds like the link works as a standalone when you access the intranet link in a new browser window.

I noticed that this is a .local file from your image. Since this same link does not work in Review 360 or in your LMS, I’d recommend following up with your web team that manages your intranet. They should be able to let you know if sharing intranet links in this way is possible, if there are firewall or permissions issues that may be preventing this activity, and how to resolve if possible.
