Which slide is using which master or layout
Is there a way to find out which slides are using a master/layout (also feedback)? In my project I have an old and a new masterslide. Although I have converted all slides to the new master, there is still an indication at some old layouts that they are used by one ore more slides.
I changed the color of the feedback layouts but I cannot find these changes on the slides.
In ppt there is an indication which slides are using a layout, but in SL I can only see how many slides are using a particular layout
Thanks voor advise!

The simplest way I have found is to add a big shape (normally red) on the layout and then you can see when you return to slide view

Hope there is an answer to this question. I am in exactly same boat...

Although three years old, this discussion is still current. Seems the feature request wasn't important.

I found out something strange (for nerds and technicians from Articulate only):
- Added a clearly visible object to the Master lay-out.
- Couldn't find the slides that should use this layout (according to Slide Master View there should be 7 (seven!) slides using this layout.
Nothing new so far ... - Saved the project file (.story).
- Changed the extension to ".zip".
- Unzipped the file.
- With Notepad++ searched for files with name of the layout in it.
- Found one file: slideLayout7.xml.
- One of the xml-items (sorry but I am not an xml-geek) is InternalG :
- Did a new file search with the string "26998a0c ....".
- Notepad++ finds 7 (seven!) xml-files with this reference.
- Opened these seven files to find out the slidenames.
- Opened these slides in Storyline.
- The Slide layout is visible on one of the layers! When I look which feedback layout is used there is no feedback layer selected.
- When I add a 'real' feedback layout to the layer the number of Master layouts decreases.

Is there a way to find out which slides are using a specific Feedback master or layout?
The Feedback Master view show that the master slide 'Accessible' is used by 11 slides, but I have really no idea which. The same for the sub layouts (of the theme Accessible).
Hi Jeroen,
One quick way to do this is to change the background color of the Feedback master to a distinguishable color. You can also place an object that can easily be seen in a location that is not covered to help you locate which slides/layers are using the layout.
Feel free to share a copy of your project file here so I can help make the changes so the slides/layers that use the layout are identifiable.

See my reply to this discussion I made 6 years ago...
(look under the hood of .story-file)

Glad my old post helped. You can add feature request to Articulate and ask them to add a function that shows the names of the slides that use a lay-out

By right clicking on the slide you need to select the layout (Which you want to select from Master Slide or Feedback slide).

Hi Kalyani,
I am looking for the other way: I am in the master/feedbackmaster view and want to find out which slides use a particular layout.

I do what Phil does and it works OK as long as you don't have too many slides. It gets pretty tedious if you have many quiz slides with multiple feedback layers as well.
I think this would make an excellent feature request.
