Versioning videos in Articulate Review
Apr 09, 2018
Hi all,
As well as using Review to review our Storyline and Rise projects, we also use it a great deal to review videos.
A great deal of our videos are created in Camtasia and then the mp4's uploaded to Review, this works really well for the most part.
The only issue is related to versioning. When uploading a mp4 to review, you can't then upload as a new version to the same object. This means unless you keep all the versions of the video in review or export all comments and maintain these offline, there is no way to check previous versions / resolved comments etc.
It would be great to have a way of uploading a new version of a mp4, thus enabling you to keep comments, share URL, password etc. intact.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt! Thanks for contributing your experiences and what you'd like to do better in Articulate Review. I'll get your thoughts to our team, and if you have any other feature requests, feel free to submit them here, too!
I agree, I want to upload my updates to Review without losing my co-workers comments and being able to respond to those comments. All this done to the same original upload.
Hi Renee and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Is your course published to video/mp4 as well?
Otherwise, you should be able to version your content:
Full documentation here.
Echoing this request to upload multiple versions of the same video, just like you would do with courses.
Wish this could be sorted, I did 4 videos for a client and used review, and we ended up with over 20 versions added because you cannot version each video to the same link.
Agree. The timestamp functionality is great for feedback. The ability to upload future videos based on that feedback seems like a no brainer from a UX perspective.
Thanks, Luke and Phil for sharing here. I recently saw another discussion with the same question, so I've pulled those together as a feature idea for our team.
Hi all,
As a workaround I create a Articulate Replay project for each video and then add the MP4 to this and publish the Replay project to review. If I need to change the video following feedback, I replace the video in the replay project with the updated version and then re-publish.
This allows me to keep all the older review comments,
Thanks,
Matt
Interesting workaround Matt.
Thanks for popping in to share what works well for you :)
Hi Leslie,
Any update on this feature being progressed? It would make my life easier for sure.
Thanks
Hi Suzanne,
This feature hasn't made it to the top of our roadmap, but we're still listening to the feedback. Here's a bit more about how we work to prioritize feature requests.
We'll be sure to jump back in here and share any progress that's made!
Agreed, would also like to see this feature!
This one thing would make such a huge difference, i have been creating videos for clients this month and the inability to version videos means I have 200 videos in review.
I agree with Phil & al. I have to move to Techsmith Review to get this versioning feature. Honestly I would prefer to stay in Articulate Review for reviewing my videos too! =)
Hi, Everyone
I have great news to share!
We just released an update for Review 360. In this update, we’ve included the following feature:
Manually Upload Video Versions - Click here for additional information.
Since Review 360 is a web app, there's nothing to install! New features and fixes are available immediately.
