Uploading a video in articulate Rise reduces the quality of the video

Aug 17, 2022

Hi fellows,
everytime I upload a video tutorial in articulate rise the quality is being reduced drastically. How can one fix that.
The size of the video is about 8MB so that can not be the problem.

Looking forward to your feedback

Hi Tarek!

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with video quality in Rise.  To confirm, we are investigating why the video file size almost doubles when adding it to a Rise 360 lesson. We also have noted the decrease in quality for some HD videos when added to a course. If we get any updates on these issues, we'll post an update here in this discussion.

If you'd like to have us take a closer look at your videos in the meantime, you can share a copy of your exported course with us by opening a case. We'll review it and send you an update via email.

Hi Tarek! We have a new, helpful tip for maintaining high resolution video quality in your lessons. This tip is separate from the issue you reported about the video file size doubling.

If you'd like a video to keep its specific file format and not undergo compression, you can opt-out of image optimization on a case-by-case basis. Just add _NOPROCESS_ to the name of your video file. It'll upload and display exactly as you saved it.

* Keep in mind, using this method bypasses transcoding and compression, so learners may encounter issues with playback across different devices. File size limits still apply.
