My Custom Rise Block Component Library
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share a custom library of Rise-compatible interactive components I’ve been building and experimenting with for eLearning projects.
The library includes custom-designed blocks and interactions intended to help make Rise courses more engaging, flexible, and visually dynamic beyond the default block set.
You can explore the library here: https://cognitoblox.netlify.app/
This is an ongoing project, and I’d genuinely love feedback from the community:
- Which components do you find most useful?
- What kinds of interactions would you like to see added?
- Any ideas for improving usability or accessibility?
Happy to connect with fellow developers who are experimenting with custom Rise code blocks as well!
Thanks for checking it out

Hey AkshayKdwl this is so cool!! I'd love to know a bit about how you built this- potentially as a member article (a la How I Built This: I Developed an Award-Winning Ethics Course | E-Learning Heroes ) if you'd be willing?

Hi MaryEmma_Gary, I'd love to write about why and how I developed this (similar to your article).
Hey AkshayKdwl! I sent over an email with next steps for this, let me know if it made it.

Love this! Thank you so much for sharing. I've been using Learning Dojo as well—they have some fantastic prompts!

Thanks for sharing that as well! Learning Dojo has some great examples and resources.
I've also put together a quick 3–4 minute video that walks through how you can use this library alongside vibe coding to customize the components even further and create your own variations. Hope you find it helpful!

I second and love this! I don't create with code, but I did create a choose your own adventure type of thing in Storyline. I think I need to start using Learning Dojo! Thank you!

This is great stuff! I've been working on some of my own, but mostly letting the AI help me code, then turning it into an "app" and progressively adding customization and simpler interfaces for others. Bookmarked and shared with my organization!

Thanks so much! That is a similar approach I took. I also put together a quick 3–4 minute video on using the Cognito Blox library with AI/vibe coding to customize and extend the components even further.

Really appreciate you bookmarking and sharing it with your organization!

My pleasure! If you'd like to customize the components further, check out this short "How to Use" video. It also shows how you can use vibe coding with the components in the library to extend and customize them even more: Vibe Coding with Cognito Blox - Video
To check the vibe coding part, jump straight to 2:12 in the video.

This is fantastic - what a great starting place to create interactive blocks.
With the quiz blocks, I think a reset button would be handy if you want the users to try again and/or can it have options of allowing the users to redo a question if they get it wrong.
I use a lot of h5P in my LMS, and this reminds me of those - except yours are so much prettier! I would love to see more interactive blocks like H5P has.- AkshayKdwlCommunity Member
Thank you so much for the kind words! I took your feedback, and the Quiz Block now includes a Retry button for individual questions as well as a Retry option on the results screen for the entire quiz. Check it out here: Quiz Block
Also, thanks for mentioning H5P. Inspired by those interactions, I actually added a new Timeline Block today. If you'd like to customize any of these blocks further, check out this short video: Vibe Coding with Cognito Blox - Video.
For the vibe coding section, jump straight to 2:12 to see how you can build on top of the existing components.

Wow - that is amazing - thanks for being so responsive - this will be great to use in courses. I will definitely watch your video and look forward to the next interactions you create.
