Hi! I posted before that Thinkific was keeping my language selection stuck and I wasn't being prompted for the language when I re-entered a course. We took a different approach and decided to export all of the languages separately. When I export all of the files, one file, the Spanish one, is significantly smaller than the rest of the files and fails on upload. All other languages work. I've done this for 3 courses, and the problem only exists in one of them. What can be causing the one file to not be created correctly? I tried SCORM 1.2 and also 2004, 4th edition, with the exact same issues. You can see in the attached screenshot that the spanish file is only 16KB when all of the other files are 390,000. Are there certain content types that don't work for translated content? I don't see anything different in this course than the other 2, nor can I think why it would only be a problem for one of the 6 languages. Is there a way to only publish Spanish? I couldn't find a way to do that. Would really appreciate any help and ideas. We're really struggling to get our first multi-lingual courses out with these issues.Translating closed captions in Rise with localization
I am experimenting in Rise with the new localization feature, but I'm struggling to have the closed captions in the video automatically translated. The course is translated into 4 different languages. I've added a new chapter to each translated course, included a video, and added the closed captions (as a vtt file). However, after re-translating the course, the closed captions remain in the same, original language. This article mentions adding closed captions to the video before translating the course. Is it also possible to apply localization to closed captions after they have been added to an already translated course? Hi! We have used Articulate localization to translate our course into 5 languages. We then export to one SCORM package that contains all of the languages. We use that SCORM file in 2 LMS's. In Litmos, the user is presented with the language, they choose the content and off they go. If they decide they want to go back and choose English instead (it's technical content, this is common), they simply exit and go back in and they'll have the option to choose the language again. It keeps track of where they were, just presents in the new chosen language. All works great. In Thinkific, once again the user is presented with the language choice when first entering the course. However, whatever language they choose "sticks." There is no way to switch to a different language if they accidentally chose the wrong one or want to go back to English. When they exit and come back in, they come back in in the same language with no option to choose another one. Is there a way to present the option to switch languages from within the course? I'm using Rise 360, not Storyline. I found this previous article, but I think it's meant for Storyline? Hi I’m creating sims but need to record the same simulation in different languages with matching screens. I’m currently re recording the sims to capture the system in the alternative language and then, having imported the translation, manually swapping the translated elements etc from the original sim to the new scene. This is laborious and time consuming, especially as I have to repeat the process for 2 languages. I’m desperate for a short cut as I’ve got 56 sims to complete in 7 days. Hi everyone, I’m working on a multilingual course in Storyline 360 and ran into a tricky issue after localizing from English to Spanish. The original English audio is longer than the Spanish version. When I replace the English audio with the ES audio in the Spanish version, the timeline in the English reflects the time that the Spanish audio has, causing the English duration of the audio to be longer. This causes the seekbar to continue running even after the English audio has finished, which confuses learners and makes the slide feel like it's dragging. To prevent users from clicking “Next” too early or thinking something is broken, I added a time-based trigger to delay the “Next” button until the timeline ends. But this feels like a workaround, not a real fix. What I’ve tried: Replacing the audio directly in the timeline (messes up the versions) Using triggers to control navigation What I’m looking for: A better way to have the seekbar reflect the actual audio length per language Tips for managing timeline/audio mismatches in localized courses Any best practices for syncing audio and navigation across multiple languages Has anyone found a clean way to handle this? I'm trialing the Articulate localization feature right now - what an AMAZING feature and am so happy that this is being developed! I tried publishing a single course with two different languages. I see the option to choose my language when I first launch the content, but what if I wanted to switch languages mid way through the course, is there a way to do so? Hello, I have verified that I'm updated to the most recent version of Storyline, and I opened an existing Story file to play with the localization tool. However, I don't see that option in the menu as shown in the most recent update video. I don't understand why the feature is not there, when there are no updates showing as available in my Articulate 360 app. Please advise. I translated a course into 3 other languages using Storyline360. While uploading the translated SCORM files to the LMS, I am encountering an error with the error codes 43073 and 43269. It is a single file with 3 different languages. I used the same file and exported each language separately. The course has unique LMS Course Information identifier. Has anyone encountered this issue before? I have raised a case with Articulate and waiting for a response.
