Migration to EU server

I want my data on an EU server but that seems impossible.
I started using Articulate 5 years ago. Than there was no EU server. I did build courses and now I could not send a copy of a course to a customer I builded the course for.

I see it as my content and I want to migrate to a EU server. But this is a service that Articulate does not offer.

Does any now how solve this? Or perhaps some experts of the organisation can solve this for me.

Thanks in advance, Rypke Procee

I have the same problem. My ticket is #01150901 and at first Articulate staff did not even said I had a subscription (?) and then said it was impossible to move content to EU even though I know it can be done.

Can you provide me with some extra guidelines here? And why is there not a migration service for this. There must be several customers in EU that would prefer EU servers.

        Hi GustafSylvin!

Great move on opening a support case!

I see that you've been working with my teammate, Luiza. I can confirm that we do not support data transfers between different regional data centers (EU & US). I do understand this may feel restrictive, and we're tracking a feature request to introduce this functionality. I've included your voice in the report!

We'll be sure to notify you if this enhancement makes it to our product roadmap.

  • Any news how to proceed in this case? I have also the same problem. All my customers are in EU, but my subscription is in US. At the end of February I have to renew my subscription and want to continue in EU. What can Articulate do to transfer all my courses?

Hi MeikePetermann! I see that you've reached out in a support case and are working with my teammate, Christian. I see that he is still available in your case if you have any follow up questions!

  • Dear Articulate Team,

Could you please advise when it will be possible to smoothly migrate our data from the US domain to the EU domain? Our team is currently facing challenges with this issue, especially as our license renewal is approaching in the next few days and we would like to transition to EU servers while retaining all existing content.

Are there any available options to preserve and transfer our data accumulated over the past several years to the EU servers?

We would greatly appreciate your support and guidance.

      Hello OlhaZinchenko,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your request to switch domains in your upcoming renewal. I've opened a support case on your behalf so we can continue this conversation via email! You're in excellent hands!

  • Dear Articulate Team,

I’m unfortunately still experiencing the same issue with the migration from the US to the EU server that I reported on December 25, and I have not yet received a viable solution from support.

The only guidance so far has been to export all Rise courses and rebuild them on the EU instance. Given the number of modules created over several years, this would require a substantial amount of manual work and is not a realistic option for us.

I would therefore very much appreciate a timely and sustainable solution. From a compliance perspective, current EU guidelines no longer allow us to continue working on US-based servers.

Thank you in advance for your support.

      Hello RypkeProcee and MeikePetermann,

We appreciate you both sharing feedback on how we currently handle content in the US and EU Data Centers. I have shared your insight with the team. If we make any changes going forward, we'll be sure to share future updates in this thread and in your private support cases for awareness.

    Hello,

I am having the same issue. Our customers from european administration are buying EU Articulate licenses and my license is US based server. I have more than 200 Rise projects I must share with these customers.
What will be the best procedure to share the projects? Should I change/buy a different license type?

On the other hand, if I pass all my projects to an EU server, my collaborators in Peru will not longer be able to share their work with me. Am I right?

Thanks in advance for your help 🙃

      Hi JuditRdm,

Happy to share some insight on this.

As you've mentioned, Articulate 360 U.S. and EU data centers are completely separate environments. We're still tracking a feature request to allow collaboration across those data centers, and I've included your voice in that request.

For now, the only workaround is to purchase a new Articulate 360 subscription and request a data center of your choosing at the time of purchase. If this is something you and your team would like to explore, please connect with our Sales team.

Also, if you decide to migrate from the U.S. to EU server, while your Peruvian colleagues remain on the U.S. data center, then you will not be able to collaborate with them.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else!

I am sure you will be able to create a feature and could give us a solution.

By now, is there any manual way of carrying a project from a U.S. centered user to a EU centered one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you switch to an EU license, you won't be able to migrate your 200+ courses. You would have to build them again.

Are you sure? I find it unaceptable, and I am sure Articulate will figure something out.
