E-Learning Crossword Puzzle Games  #240: Challenge | Recap

In a recent challenge, we looked at using text entry fields and variable references to capture and display learner’s names. This week we’re taking things up a notch by using multiple text entry fields to create crossword puzzles.

To create crossword games, you’ll need a separate text entry field for each letter. Depending on the number of words in your game, you could be looking at dozens of text variables. How you manage those variables will be a big part of the production process. To help you get started, I’ve rounded up a few examples and downloads so you can see how other course designers are approaching this popular word game.

Challenge of the Week

This week, your challenge is to share an example of a crossword puzzle.

If you’re new to Storyline or course authoring, try mocking up your example and asking for help in the forums. We’ll be more than happy to help you transform your crossword design comps into an interactive example.

For those of you with more course-building experience, try finding a creative angle or use case for your entry.

If possible, please share your source files so other community members can benefit from your expertise.
