Browser Screen Flashes Between Slides
Hi all,
When playing a published Storyline 360 project (v3.3.9986.0) in a Chrome web browser, I experience a single brief white-screen flash when I move/navigate between the slides/screens.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks in advance,
Simon
Hi Sarah,
I completely understand you not being able to share you file publicly. I made a quick sample file in Storyline 3 for you to test in Internet Explorer.
Can you open this link and let me know if you're seeing the flicker between slides there?

Downloading and installing the update fixed the problem!
Thank you,

Any chance this issue is going to be fixed? My only option is to publish in flash and as you all know this won't work forever...
Hi S,
Thanks for checking in on this! Our team is finishing up fixes right now for the next update of Storyline 360 (release date soon - but not set in stone yet!) and we'll be fixing the issue where the slides are flashing when jumping to the next slide in the HTML5 output.
We'll post here as soon as that update is available.

Hi Scott
I solved the issue with the “flash in try scenes” by changing to classic player. Modern player is obviously fading in and out and therefore we get the flash. It also helped keeping the automatically created captions on a separate layer, as the program is doing by default (I actually moved them to base layer……). I hope this will help you too. - MarkBennett-822Community Member
Yep. Very irritating. I get in on Safari too. I don't get it if I put my content on layers but obviously can't have a whole course in layers.
I assume it's just where the course in loading content but is there a way I can at least make the flash black/less visible.
Hello Simon and Mark - Do either of you have a .story file that we could take a look at to see the issue in action? That would certainly be helpful.

Bonjour,

I've also been experiencing this, and it's an issue because I'm trying to create a video-like feel. I'm attaching the published zip and the story file. Any ideas on how to make this stop would be much appreciated. (Note: The flash doesn't always happen on every slide. It's present in both web publish and publish to 360 review.)
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for sharing a copy of your file! What browser(s) are you testing it in? I uploaded a copy of your course to Tempshare and you can view it here. I tested it on Firefox for Mac and Chrome for Windows 10 and Mac. I didn't see the flash that you mentioned - but wanted to see if you could give this one a test?
I also tested it in Articulate Review and you can test that one here.
Take a look at let me know how those behave for you!

Hi,
we're building a short interactive quiz with Storyline 360. It's very important to us that we have smooth transitions between slides. However, upon testing on different browsers we have experienced white flickering when the next slide is loading. There is no transition effect between slides, all objects are aligned to timeline start (0,00 sec) and there are no animations on individual objects. We are testing on Articulate Review, exported to HTML5 with FLASH fallback.
Can this be fixed?
These are our testing results if that helps:
MAC Chrome - no flicker
MAC Safari - flicker
MAC Firefox - no flicker
PC Chrome - no flicker
PC Firefox - no flicker
PC IE 11 - flicker
PC Edge - flicker
iPAD Chrome - flicker
iPAD Safari - loading dots with short flicker
Thanks in advance if anyone has figured this out.
Marina
Hi Marina,
The tempshare link that I shared before has likely expired, but can you test the Review link I shared earlier? I haven't experienced the "flash" myself- but would be curious to know if you see it on that copy shared? I'd also like to take a look at your course and give it a test in a few of the environments you mentioned!
Do you know in each of the instances if you were viewing the HTML5 or the Flash output?
