Closed captions export not working

Oct 05, 2021

I have closed captions in my course, which I am creating automatically when putting in text to speech for a rough first draft.

The problem I am having is when I need to then export the VTT file - it is appearing in the file system as an audio file which of course won't play - and then I cannot re-import it back into Storyline as it is not a VTT file.

Once the course is complete and the real audio recorded I will have over 30 screens with audio files that I need to take the closed captions from, and then apply them to the real audio files.

How do I do this?

Hi, Lizzie.

Thank you for reaching out!

If I understand correctly, after creating the text-to-speech audio with captions, when you click export captions under audio tools, the file is saved as an audio file instead of .vtt.

That's definitely not the expected behavior! Are you comfortable sharing your draft .story file either publicly here or privately through a support case so we can see what's going on?
