Color picker (eyedropper) doesn't work

Feb 03, 2018

Trying to pick a shape's border color to match other on-screen elements.  The eyedropper only works in the dialog box.  Once outside, the chosen color is black no matter what the eyedropper is over.

Hi Teresa,

Looks like the issue is intermittently happening for you, and the behavior has been ongoing for the past few months. I can see that you haven't reached out to our support team yet - would you like us to get you in touch with our support team so we can take a closer look at your work setup? I'll be glad to open a case for you, or you can open one yourself by visiting this page

Thanks Joe, for checking in.  No, don't worry about a request, oddly it always fixes itself over a month or so, I just manually write down the colours I need then put them in.  You know that saying "pick your battles"?  This one is not enough for me to do an uninstall /reinstall LOL!

But thanks for your response.

Hi Celeste,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue. Would you mind sharing what's specifically not working in the color picker feature for you so we can share some troubleshooting steps that might help? Is the eyedropper tool registering the wrong colors or is the feature not accessible at all?

Additionally, can you share what scale value do you have set for your monitors? To check, right-click anywhere on your desktop, select Display Settings, and check the value here:

Try switching the value here to 100% to see if this helps make the feature usable for you. If you're already using 100% as the scale level, please open a case with our support team here so we can take a closer look at your installation details.
