Looking for example SCORMs for an LMS

Jul 10, 2018

Hi I work for an LMS. We do not create content ourselves. We are building out a few courses to showcase what our system is capable of doing and were wondering if there is anywhere we can download free example SCORM courses to use as demos in our system. Any suggestions help. Thanks!

Hello Chirag and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊

Thanks for contacting us and sharing the issue that you are experiencing with your file and for sharing the image.

It looks like you are viewing the published output locally and have not uploaded the content to an LMS yet, is that correct?

To test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published:

Thanks Alyssa for providing these. It'd be great if Storyline could provide official resources for solid and varying types of test SCORM packages with their products as you've provided here. Maybe I am unaware of this resource? We can of course make our own SCORM packages. However, sending to vendors test packages from Storyline proper may appear less bias when working to ensure the end product works on their LMS and our in-house LMS.

In other note, I'm not sure if I'm testing these correctly but their results for all 4 seems to be unexpected when I test on SCORM Cloud. When I complete the courses and pass the quizzes, I get the following:

SL360_LMS_SCORM_1_2.zip:
Completion
incomplete
Success
unknown
Score
100.00 %

SL360_LMS_SCORM_2004.zip:
Completion
incomplete
Success
failed
Score
100.00 %

employee-health-and-wellness-sample-course-scorm2004_2-YVpCR5M_.zip:

Basically I can never get a Pass or Completed status. Also, the SCORM 2004 version seems to always post a Failed status. Is there are reason this may be happening? Maybe I'm moving through the course unintentionally.

Hi Wesley,

The piece that we're missing here is how the reporting was set for these files and since those files were shared was over 2 years ago (and the source files may be hard to track down), I'd like to start anew.

Based on your description, it sounds like you'd like to have both completion and success status sent to your LMS.

We have a reference article for this:

How to Report Completion and Success Statuses to an LMS

If you have a project that you'd like us to take a look at, please share your .story project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.

Hello Popa,

The files shared by Alyssa are already a few years old and in current versions of Storyline 360, it is not possible to be able to copy text from a published course made with Storyline. Here's a recommendation from another community member that you may find useful.

Hope this helps!
