Newest Update Issue???

Jul 12, 2023

I updated to the latest version of Storyline yesterday, and I've had nothing but problems ever since!  I had a project all set for publications, but now most of my triggers no longer work.  I create my own buttons with shapes, and every single one no longer works.  Everything in the timeline and triggers is the same, but nothing happens when the user selects the button.  I have had to delete every trigger and replace each with a new one.  Extremely time-consuming and frustrating!  Has anyone else had issues?  I've restarted the computer, changed browsers, etc. already.

Hi Elizabeth!

It sounds like you ran into some issues with triggers and buttons after updating to the latest version of Storyline 360. Sorry to hear that!

I see you've already opened a support case and my colleague Chester picked it up. You're in great hands working one on one with him! It looks like Chester replied to your e-mail with some feedback and steps you can take.

We'll continue this conversation over in your support case.

This the exact problem I am having.  I have added a support case as below but I am very concerned as this will take an enormous amount of time to resolve if I have to redo the logic behind all these buttons.  Maybe the support case mentioned above?

Case Number: 03954049
Reference ID: ref:!00D300Txo.!5004y02UpCjq:ref
Case Details: Dear Team,

The logic shown in a trigger in the attached has worked well to turn a hidden hint box visible when pushing a button and then hidden again when pressing the button a second time. Now this seems to no longer work on the latest version of Articulate 360. I know a new toggle function was added in a November update last year to achieve the same result. Has this caused the issue?

Is there a way to continue to make the logic in the attached work?

Thanks,
Scott

Too late for Lisa and Elizabeth, but FYI for anybody else.

This is why you should NEVER update ANY software (if you have the option) at a critical juncture in a project. Don't be like the large number of us who have learned this the hard way.

So when do you update?  Literally the answer is: when you don't care if all your in progress work is lost. It won't happen every time, but how many times is too many for you?

Hi Scott!

Sorry to hear you've also run into issues with triggers from your course after updating Storyline! Happy to help with that!

I checked Elizabeth's case but did not see any reply from her after our support engineers reached out initially. Reviewing the case you just shared, it looks like my teammate Chester is handling that one as well. I see Chester replied to your e-mail asking for a sample file so he can test the behavior on our end.

You're in excellent hands working with him! We can continue troubleshooting through your support case to help keep all information in one spot.
