Record Screen - Save is taking forever

Aug 10, 2012

I just recorded a software simulation for a Storyline presentation (my first one using this software). It was about 11 minutes long. Once I hit Save and Insert, it took about 30 minutes for it to be inserted into the presentation as one slide, not as individual screen slides.

Has anyone else noticed this? That just seems much more than necessary...especially given that I've got 3 more to do in the same file.

Jonathan,

Storyline is actually doing a lot of the grunt work (compression, conversion, etc.) during that first process, so it can take a fair amount of time.  But the cool thing is that now it's ready to roll when you go back to add other modes. You'll find that when you go back to insert a different mode (such as try or test) that the process will be much zippier given that SL already did the work earlier.

Yeah... I have the same issue... Storyline is unable to save a sim that is 1 minute long for about 45 minutes and counting. I have restarted Storyline, as well as the computer, and also recorded a one-click sim to get the system running... but... nothing changes. Now, I have a 14 seconds simulation that takes more than 20 minutes. I thought it's the Internet, but no... it isn't. This is an issue, especially when you are on a tight timeline and every minute counts.
