You Too Can Have Virtual Reality in Your Articulate Courses

May 08, 2017

Hi,

A teammate and I have recently come across ways on how to add 3D models with VR capability into Articulate 360 courses.

I created a 3D model in Sketchup, made an account on SketchFab. From there, got a plug-in for Sketchup to upload the model directly to SketchFab. Once the model is processed, you can view it as any regular 3D model on the screen.

I believe the developer of this course then inserted the link as a video. When you set this link in Articulate, SketchFab will come up with a VR Viewer in which you can view your new model via VR headsets or through a VR Web browser.

Once we have more items fixed and we can show something more final, we will. I just wanted to post this because this community should explore this more.

ETA: My teammate stated she added the link as a video object which helped create this.

Hi, everyone!

I have exciting news to share!
We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 54, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the features we’ve included is:

Create immersive learning experiences with 360° images. Add interactive elements, such as hotspots and markers to engage learners as they explore.

360° images are currently in public beta for Storyline 360, which means you can use them for production as we continue to enhance them.

To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
