Accidently Overwritten a story file! HELP!

I have overwritten a story file and I need to find out if I can retrieve the previous version. I did not publish it.   HELP HELP HELP!

Having encountered the same issue in the past - I have developed a workaround process.

  1. Create your planned .story file. (File #1)
  2. Then save a second version of the file  - and append my initials as the last 2 characters of the file name.  (File #2)
  3. I make all my edits in the 2nd version (File #2).  At the end of every development day, I do a "file, save as" back to the original .story file.  (File #1).
  4. Once the course design is approved and final - I delete my backup copy (File #2).

It has saved me numerous times in similar situations.  Using this method, I have a "backup" that is never more than one design version behind.  My courses are usually several modules with 100+ slides.  After it happened twice, with 2 different clients - I had to develop a process.  "Old Skool" but it works.
